Rough idle and stalling 2003 ford taurus ses

How does it idle in park , does it run ruff or smooth? Are any lights lit on the dash , check engine etc. ? Could have a partially plugged IAC air passage .idle air control (IAC) valve ! The engine computer uses the IAC to control idle , when under a load such as when put into gear the computer raises the idle ! It does this by allowing more air to by pass the closed throttle into the engine raising the idle ! If these air passages clog they restrict the air flow an cause a idle problem ! sounds like fuel injectors

No it won't ,it has an Idle control valve that isnt working or the idle is set to low or the throttle body is gummed up ,clean the throttle body
replace the iac vavle and you should be ok

It can be issue with IAC( idle air control valve) causing the problem.

There are many other possibilities causing these idle issues.Engine idles rough.

2003 Ford Windstar-this may the idleing amount is too much so which may makes it to idle rough. that means too much of fuel going inside the engine.

Engine stalls- this is because the when the car is off and when AC is on the AC runs in battery. When you try starting the car the starter motor takes power from the battery. it doesnt have enough battery power t o starts thats why it stalls.

An oil change has nothing to do with it. Vacuum leak, bad Idle Air Control Valve, dirty or bad injectors, could also be plugs, plug wires, or coil pack. On mine it was a vacuum leak causing the RPM's to go up and down.

Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls at stops and low erratic idle speed and rough idle, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve (IAC for short), they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake

mcdevito75 here, Sounds like the idle speed motor, Ford is known for these idle speed motors going bad, in the later stages the car races like crazy. have your repair shop check this idle speed motor and change it.
