no engine stated, name or displacent size, USA?
the ECU on this car can flash out DTC ERROR CODES to the CEL lamp. if you crank for 5 seconds, it will tell you why there is no spark, im guessing all spark plugs are dead, not just 1.
so...... is it?

If you just want to check the timing marks on your Dodge 4.7L engine,
skip ahead to step #32 of the procedure below.
I found this Dodge 4.7L engine info in a manual for the 2000 Durango 4WD MFI 8 Cylinder, but whatever year your SUV/truck may be, all Dodge 4.7's should be the same. I tried to post the entire procedure (with 5 illustrations), but got an error. Happy Thanksgiving FunnyJennifer/Josh, and may your 4.7 keep perfect time.
Excerpt from Timing Chain & Sprocket Removal & Installation: Dodge Durango 4.7L MFI 8 Cylinder ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ #32 Rotate the engine two full revolutions. Verify alignment of all timing marks:
Primary chain idler sprocket: dot at 12 o'clock
Primary chain crankshaft sprocket: dot at 6 o'clock
Secondary chain camshaft sprockets: V8 marks at 12 o'clock
when you install the distributor the rotor button should point at the # 1 plug wire on the distributor cap make sure you are on the compression stroke of the motor when doing this you can verify that you are on the compression stroke by removing the #1 spark plug and turning the engine over while holding your fingure over the spark plug hole it will push your finger off the hole you need to spin the engine .spin the engine over slow while doing this so you don,t pass the timing mark on the harmonic balancer.
The door switch is probably faulty, the pin is not moving in and out or stuck so no contact is being make.might have to replace switch or clean contacts on switch, Good luck!!
