I used an OBD 2 error code reader on the 1998 Lexus gs400. After getting the codes, I disconnected the reader, but the key was stuck in the ignition - I could not get it from the ON position to the OFF, so it could be pulled out. I disconnected the battery and the key came out easily. Upon re-connecting the battery, however, the alarm goes off continuously and the car will not start. I can turn the key in the ignition, but even the lights don't come on. Please, help!

Do you have the Owner's Manual? If so, look in it for the way to deactivate the Alarm when the battery has been disconnected. This is only for the FACTORY Lexus alarm. If yours is non-factory you'll need to 'google' the alarm brand and 'how to turn off'.

Check for a loose gas cap first. This light set comes on for several reasons , generally caused by an air to fuel mixture problem, it can be sensing a defective O2 sensor in one of several locations, engine or exhaust area.
If the light does not go out a readout meter will offer more advice and reset options

It it's like the ASC button/light on a BMW it means you have a problem with either you ABS, Traction Control or possibly one of the sensors. Sorry to say it but you should get it into a garage soon. When mine went on my BMW it was a wheel speed sensor and the car basically shut off the ABS and Traction Control as it's not working correctly. If you're not used to driving without these features it can lead to an intresting drive to say the least. I'd get it into a garage asap!!!
