The battery is doing dead, connecting and disconnecting power, the relay or what ever it is makes a thud noise. figured that is where the dead short is.
SOURCE: power seats do not work
IT HAS TO HAVE A POWER CORD COMING FROM THE SEAT UNDER THE BOTTOM OF THE SEAT TO MAKE IT WORK SEE IF IT IS PLUG UP

Check the blower speed control resistor pack, it is located in the air stream near the blower motor, that is most likely the cause of the inop blower, but be warned if the blower is drawing to much current due to wear the resistor will fail again, I believe the connector has four wires, 2 are heavy Gage
SOURCE: 2000 Blazer. No power to the orange wire for
The orange wire is the power wire for both seats. It gets its power from the power seat circuit braker (20 amp) located at the body relay block. It is located behind left side of dash near fuse block. Remove circuit braker and check for power in body relay cavity that you pulled the relay out of if power is on one side change circuit braker and if no power on either side then you have a bad main fuse near battery or under hood in main fuse block. you will need to pull off the four retaining nuts holding seat in place. Measure the length and width of bottom support frames. Many seats are interchangable.
