The back door wont open and the window wont go down. Do you have a quick fix for this because i cant change rear signal lights
The rear window has to be completely down in order to move the tailgate! You should be happy that your window is stuck up, unlike mine which is stuck all the way down! I have to completly take apart my tailgate!! If you want to try a trick to get the rear window down, my bronco has a rear window switch right next to the headlight knob, take the 2 purple wires on that window switch, and cross them, if your motor still works and if the wires are good, that should make the window go down!!! good luck, hope that helps!
Hit the tailgate hard on the left side next to the taillight, there is the window cut off switch located at the latch,my 1994 Bronco does that once in a while too, spray the latch really well with wd40
The window has to be completely down for the rear hatch to open. My rear hatch door won't open unless I push the handle down, flush to the rear hatch wall and then pull up. I don't know if this
"resets" it but I can't just pull up on the interior handle to release the door.
To fix my non working window:
I ended up taking the back panel off of the tailgate (my window was down, could not go up). I unplugged the gray quick dis-connect of the wire harness that's in the middle of the tailgate. You'll see one side goes to the motor for the window. I connect 16ga wire to that one side of the quick dis-connect (the one going to the window motor). I didn't cut wires to add them. I taped it with electrical tape. I ran the two 16ga wires along the left side from the tailgate, through the firewall under the dash and into the engine compartment. The wires lay near the battery (one wire white, the other red). I just touch the battery posts and the window goes up. Reverse the connection at the battery, the window goes down.
Trying run those wires to the fuse panel, I could not pull enough current to raise and lower the window. So I ran them to the battery.
This is a good way to determine if it's the window's motor that is bad..

The back gate won't open with the window up. The wires to the window motor are probably corroded where they go into the left side of the rear door. If you remove the access panel to the window regulator (from inside the car) you could try to use jumper wires to open the window.

I have almos the same problem but i dont have the spare tire rack on the back but i cant get anything to happen with the rear window and i can't open the tail gate with out it down
1995 Ford Bronco XLT: Tailgate Window is Stuck up, i tried crossing the two purple wires, and that did not work. Situation: When it first started to quit working, i put the window down to put weights in the back of the truck for the winter, and the wouldn't go back up, so finally punched it the tailgate pretty hard out of frusteration, and it went up. Hasn't been able to go back down since. So i'm just curious to what the experts think out there. The dashboard switch has never worked since i've had it, neither has the rear windown defrost since i've had it. Thank You.
ok so once i try to get it down with the purple wires what would i do to get it back up? would i run a jumper wire?
