Question about Chevrolet Silverado 1500
My battery is dead after sitting over night.I replaced the battery and the alternator.Something is drawing the juice out of the battery. My passenger airbag light has been flickering. Then this morning after I got it started, the service airbag light came on up on the dash.Could this be the problem my battery has been going dead.Is this causing a short that runs my battery dead.

SOURCE: Turning off airbag
you can only do this by removing the whole lot if you remove passenger you disable driver if thats ok you just disconnect the srs module which i think in a z4 its under the dash or possibly centre console

The regulator could be sticking in the alternator. Unplug the alternator and see if the battery goes dead. I replaced an alternator once and the new regulator was bad.

Transport Canada Vehicle Recalls & Defects Database Transport Canada Recall # 2007169 Recall Date: 2007/05/30 Notification Type: Recalls Audit System: Airbag Manufacturer Recall Number: G09 Units Affected: 51,000 Category: Minivan Recall Details: On certain vehicles the left or right front supplemental airbag sensors may crack under certain conditions, which can allow water to enter into the sensor. This can cause the airbag warning lamp to illuminate. A malfunction of one or both of the supplemental sensors will not adversely affect safety or cause a failure to comply with government standards. The single-point sensor in these vehicles, which is located in the airbag control module, is operational even if both supplemental sensors are inoperative. DaimlerChrysler has decided to launch a Customer Satisfaction Notification to advise customers that these front airbag sensors will be replaced with redesigned sensors to reduce the potential for damage. This action is not being conducted under the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

It's the " clock spring " . Dodge has a lifetime recall / replacement on this part. Somehow it controls the air bag and is tied into the horn and cruise control .
