I have a 2004 Malibu Maxx. I have electric seats and when I sit down in the drivers seat the right side goes down. What could possibly be the problem? Is it an easy fix?
I have a 2005 Malibu and after inspection I was informed that the seat frame needs to be replaced. The quoted price is $900 for the replacement frame & $700 for labour. I'm in Canada so that may account for the higher prices but needless to say I'm looking for a better solution too.

My 2006 malibu frame boke just yesterday in the right front coner, est cost $800 to $900. suggested to have someone weld it. poor design or welding with not much to weld to! hard to see how it held so long. Dealer will give somekind of loyalty-bought it there discount. seat manufacturer should have it in his car and it would quickly be corrected! I have the same problem on the right rear side - feels like I am in a low-rider car! My brother says it is probably one of the wheels that moves the seat forward and back that has broken - have to take it in yet - just not looking forward to a huge bill.

My 2004 Malibu LS 6-way dtivers side left reat side has broken. $900 is the quoted range to repkace it. I will try to get it welded and then shop salvage sites for a replacement if that fails. BTW, this seat was repaired 2X under warranty for other malidys. My 2004 Malibu LS 6-way dtivers side left reat side has broken. $900 is the quoted range to repkace it. Question moved from Spanish company Seat (pronounced See-At) to Malibu category.
The passenger seat airbag only fires in a crash if there is someone sitting on the passenger seat. There is a sensor in the seat cushion that register a person sitting there. Under the seat there will be a connector, take it apart and spray it with electrical contact cleaner.
Here is a video of the removal of the front seats of a Chevy Malibu that is in the same series as your 2005 (this video is applicable for 2004 - 2012 model Chevy Malibu)

well you can try "jumping" the correct wire to see if window got up or down... this will tell u if switch is bad... but I would just go but a new master switch... try that before you cause more damage..
