The fuel pump in my 98 escort zx2 is not working. The Chilton's manual has no diagram for the wiring or relay. How do I tell if it is getting power?
Check the fule cut out switch located in trunk behind a marked panel
: fuse or fuel pump died
cheak fuse
most likely the pump is no good need new pump
also when u turn over key a litte do iu here the clik that feul pump gives off thats ready to start clik sound
bad feul pump change it

no noise and the pump does not even get warm
My daughters '98 Escort also will not start. We replaced the Fuel Pump with a reclaimed pump, but it didn't help. The Fuel Shut-off switch in the trunk is set. The pump does nothing when the car is cranked. I took the line off at the pump and not a drop comes out when the car is cranked. Is there a way to tell if it is getting power? Is there a relay that may be bad? She's a poor college student and I'm trying to help her out, but not sure what to do next! She can't afford much.
