I changed the batteries in my R Reg Renault Megane 1.4 petrol car key and now it will not unlock the doors or deactivate the immobiliser. nearest renault garage is 30 miles away any suggestions.
Climb in your car press and hold key button while trying to start
From inside of vehicle do the following
1. Pres and hold key buton for about 10 sec until the light on the key extinguishes
2. Release the buton and press it twice in succession
If this procedure dont work the key may be faulty
This procedure is for Renault Megane 2002 year 1.9 dci
Work it manually and it should work ...ie put the key in the door and open and lock the door 3 times slowly then jump in and try to start within 15 secs .if it doesnt work then be prepared to be fleeced and lay the golden egg at the dealers

ihave the same problem. I changed the batteries and now the car wont unlcok using central loking. As it has an immobiliser on it i can not get the car started if the doors are opened manually.
