under the valve cover a mechanic will know how to adjust them you need special tools and if you dont know what you are doing you can crew up your car it is either a loose lifter or possibly a stuck lifter

traveling on gravel roads vechicle make all kinds noise due to vibrations.if you only hear noise on gravel road not much wrong if you hear noises all the time you have problem.
could be a problem with your flywheel or if the starter was just replaced and you started hearing the noise then it could have to be shimmed out from the flywheel. Could be a starter issue.
I really doubt this can't be fixed, the car is 8 years old and most likely it may have some worn components in the front end like the Constant Velocity joints, also have the btrake pad anti rattle springs replaced or checked for condition, the brakes can make this noise if the springs loose there tension.
The clunk you are hearing when the car is placed into drive is the "slack" in the drive train being taken out. It should pose no problem and without knowing the type of car you are driving is difficult to judge if it may be something more serious. If anything it could be the universal or CV (constant Velocity) joints making the sound from excess wear. The clanking when the wheel is turned could be CV joints getting old and needing replaced (Front wheel drive and 4WD only. Rear Wheel drive Universal Joint) or it could be excessively worn parts in the steering system. Definitely have this looked at.
It sound to me like you have a bad belt tentioner check to see if it's real easy to move by hand if so change it problem solved .Hope this helps you out!!!
Almost sounds like a throwout bearing problem. Either way, bring the car back and make them fix it. It will be covered under the warranty so dont let them try to convince you otherwise.
Hello and yes this is a major noise. I would check your oil now right before you ever start the oil again. This noise may have been your engine locking up from really low oil levels and excessive heat from a lot of driving. If this is fine contact me again and we will address more problems if their is more. Thank You.
What is that and where are they located?
