Blend door not working.

My blend door is not working. I get no air to the front vents and the air is diverted to the defroster. Air will switch to floor. This was an intermediate problem but is now pretty much stuck. How is the blend door actuated. How difficult is the blend to access to repair? I have a similar issue - though the vent air is diverted to the defroster vents when the accelerator is depressed (for instance, going uphill). The air returns to the front vents when the engine is not taxed (on a flat surface, decellerating). Any ideas?

Check the vacuum supply and vac lines from the control head for a leak

Vacuum controls this circuit and leaks will cause blend air door to default to defrost. Check for bad check valve or hose leaks under hood first as these are the easy ones to get at and under hood heat causes deterioration.

Air conditioner switch is stuck in defrost position what to do

Problem is usually a stuck or faulty blend door motor under the dash.
The blend doors direct air thru the heater and ac evaporator as well as the vents.

Most of A/C air is coming out of defrosting vent. Could there be a switch malfunct.

Do an internet search for "blend door repair" - - - the blend doors direct air thru the heater core and evaporator core along with the vents.

Cold air comes out the defrost vent all the time. 1994 buick le sabre. no air comes out the front registers.

The most common cause is the blend door actuator. It's the door that diverts air between the floor, vents, and defroster. Sometimes the part will get stuck in 1 position. Some cars have cable driven blend doors, others are electronic.

95 chev. pickup. Cool air comes out at floor. Cannot divert any air to the vents or defroster vent. Can feel warmth on the black plastic box like thing near the floorboard so I know there is warm water...

It sounds like the actuator that diverts the air may have gone out. I would suggest replacing the blend-door actuator so that your air will go to the right places. The blend door actuator shouldn't cost more than $150.

1984 s10 pick up a/c blow from bottom or top not vent?

air diverter vaccum operated
vaccumm mode switch is in control head
remove screw under front edge of control console
gently pull forward to access vaccumm lines
mode switch is inexpensive $10.00
mode switch routes vaccumm to vac motors that work mode, blend , recirc ,defrost doors.
vaccumm mtrs are cheap but hard to change

My heater will only blow hot air out of the rear vents from the rear controls. The front vents only blow cold air. Is there a simple fix?

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION Actuator Motors, Electric Temperature Blend Door
Removal

Remove cassette storage box or center shelf unit, if equipped.

Remove instrument panel ash receptacle (04810) by depressing service lever.

Disconnect electrical harness connector from electric blend door actuator.

Remove three retaining screws.

Carefully pull electric blend door actuator outward and off A/C evaporator housing (19850) assembly.

Installation

Follow removal procedure in reverse order.

Air temperature control door shaft is keyed. Move door to properly insert electronic actuator shaft. Make sure the shaft is completely in and properly seated.

A/C only blows through defrost vents. Won't switch to floor Or foot vents . Have tried a 2nd control unit in dash

It sounds like the blend door actuator which diverts air from defrost to vent to the floor.
The bad news is it's a bear to get at. It's located behind the glove box.

Air blend doors do not work. Air blows from defroster vents

check or loss of vacuum to mode control switch in dash ac control. these are not blend doors, they are air flow control, a blend door controls the air temperature not where it comes out.
