If you changed the coils and wiring is fine, disconnect the battery and connect it back after 5 mints, problem will be gone.

SOURCE: i have a 1999 nissan maxima with code P1320

This code is a crapshoot. There are two main things it could be and they are both expensive. There could be wire breakage in the engine harness. There is a thick harness coming out of engine bulkhead on the passenger/right side and it has a slight bend to it. With the engine idling grab that bend and give it a couple of twists and yanks. If the engine stumbles or misses that is the source of your troubles. If not, you more than likely need to replace the coils. Any one of the six coils could be causing the code so I recommend replacing all six at the same time. You could buy one coil for the front bank and one for the rear and swap it between cylinders to see which coil is causing the code. This is time consuming but cheaper.

SOURCE: I need to troubleshoot dtc p0325 & p1320 on a 1997 Nissan Maxima GXE?

Hi,

The two codes seem to be related. The P0325 description is knock sensor circuit malfunction and the P1320 is ignition signal - circuit malfunction.

I'll summarize and then give links on more detailed articles I found. Basically the P0325 refers to the knock sensor and associated wiring. The P1320 refers to the ignition coil and wiring. Check the sensor, coil, and associated wiring.

I found some great articles:
P0325 - http://www.obd-codes.com/p0325
P1320 - http://autorepair.about.com/library/a/1i/bl039i.htm

Good luck!

SOURCE: engine diagnostic code P1320, 2000 nissan maxima

P1320 is the Ignition Signal Primary. There is a technical bulletin for this code for this vehicle. To remedy this issue, you will need to replace all 6 ignition coils. I suggest that you purchase them from a Nissan dealer to make sure you get the right ones.

SOURCE: 98 MAXIMA P1320 WHAT IS THE CAUSE

Nissan had a lot of problems with ignition coils and the wiring harness that goes to them. You must inspect the wiring very very carefully and if that does not reveal anything, you can get new updated coils, either from nissan or an independent auto parts store. They are expensive and different front and back.

Misfire code p1320

Here is the definition. The most common cause is a faulty coil.

P1320 NISSAN Description The ignition signal from the Engine Control Module (ECM) is sent to and amplified by the power transistor. The power transistor turns on and off the ignition coil primary circuit. This on-off operation induces the proper high voltage in the coil secondary circuit.

What is P1320 manufacturer code

I found a thread on Maxima.org relating to the P1320 error code. Specifically, 2000-2001 Maxima's have had this problem. It seams as though everybody agrees that the error is caused by the ignition coils. We've never had ours changed, so I'm doing that. Nissan was going to charge me approx $600 (plus tax) for parts and another $180 for labor. The job take a whole 30 minutes to replace the 6 of them, and you can get the 6 ignition coils at O'reilly's for $325. I changed three last night and the car seems to be doing better. I'll replace the other 3 tonight and see what happens.

Also, when testing the car, the car seems to "shake". I'm not sure if this is related to the P1320, but if we turn off the AC the "shaking" stops.

Hope helps (remember rated this).
