A few weeks ago, it would intermittently not start - turn the key to start and nothing happens - no solenoid click, no starter motor noise at all. Then after a week or two of that - nothing happens at all when you turn the key to start.
Battery is new and good. I am replacing the starter, but I'm not sure that is going to fix it. I checked the ignition switch with and ohm meter and it tests good.
I had same problem w/ my '88 Ram50. Turned out to be bad contacts on the battery cables. Temp fix and test was to put a little screw between the post and the end connector. Didn't have a problem then, so I replaced the cables.
I have experienced this problem before. Fuel pump is going, I had experts trying to fiqure out they all thought starter, alt, etc. until I banged on fuel tank and it started. This may not be problem but it sounds like.
