1993 bighorn transmission - Automatic

Hi, I have a 1993 Bighorn, which i have owned for 2 years, recently when driving, it has started jumping gears from first to third, losing power and at some points felt like it was going to stop. I didn't drive it after that but when i tested it out it seemed to go fine, but upon using it again has started to do the same, is this the gearbox on its way out do you think?
please help, thanks stu.

If it is jumping gears, the gear box will not do that, it is more than likely your sedondary inside the transmission.

Have you checked the trans oil level correctly when hot? If its OK then you need a trans specialist to carry out various tests with gauges etc

Isuzu bighorn year 1995, not changing gear after 1st gear

This is the classic symptom of a vehicle with a failed torque converter lockup solenoid.
The lockup solenoid "locks up" the transmission to the drivetrain but only operates when the transmission progresses from first gear to second gear.

1993 Isuzu Bighorn starting problems

The breakdown service in Nz says it is a problem with the auto transmission being a switch which is not acknowledging it is fully engaged in park, therefore, wont start. I have similar problem, he says to start it in Neutral when this happens. Not sure if this will work for you, but worth a try.
