To start with, a Duramax Diesel runs on an excess of 20,000 Psi of fuel pressure. Unless you have some specialized equipment,(and know how to use it) I do not know how you could possibly tell that the fuel pressure is OK.
Duramax Diesels also have had a lot of problems with glow plugs. This could explain why it will not start. Then again, it COULD be something totally different like a bad sensor. This could even be caused by a faulty fuel pressure sensor or a bad fuel pressure regulator.
The best way to find out is to scan the engine computer for fault codes and read the engine data from the computer to see if all of the sensors are providing the correct input to the computer.
Well smarty I guess what I should have said was the fuel primer was still primed meaning it didnt run out of fuel and im not a diesel machanic but as I said the truck was running when it shut its self off and it wont start nack up and no check engine light
I was not being a "smarty". I was simply pointing out the facts. Just because the check engine light is not on, does not mean that there are no fault codes stored in the engine computer. It still remains that if the engine is refusing to start, the engine data at the computer must be checked and verified before anyone can tell you why it is not starting. This is where any diagnosis of the problem MUST start. Your Duramax engine is a computer-controlled engine and any type of diagnosis MUST include verifying the inputs and outputs to the computer that controls it. Whithout this information you could GUESS for days and spend a LOT of money replacing parts and never get the thing running.
P.S. ANYBODY that tells you anything different than this is also GUESSING!
