Body control modul

Hello all! I'm from Russia and have Suzuki XL7 2007 USA. I've damaged Body Control Module: a lot of systems were disabled. Later I changed it to another one from Shevrole Equinox with the same part number. Some of systems started working, but some still don't work, for examle, air bag, central lock, alarm. After changing of BCM audio locked. Russuian dealer can't help me because he can't "read" my car. I suppose that problem is in differences od firmwares in previous and current BCM. Can you help me?

The problem here is that the BCM you installed must be programmed, you need special GM factory scanner to do this. There is no way around it.

You need the software loaded into a GM Tech 2 scan tool.

SOURCE: air bag light is on and the clock is flashing what

You have probably had your battery removed? Clock you can fix by setting the time. The airbag warning light indicates that ther's a problem with your airbag. Check if the co-drivers airbag is turned on. If the light is still on, take it to the shop to be checked.

SOURCE: my air bag light stays on in my 2004 suzuki xl7,

there is a problem detected with in the srs system(air bag circuit) that you need to have the code pulled to know what set the light.while the light is on you have no air bag system working as the computer to this system shuts it down until the light is out.this needs to be checked and repaired for your safety and anyone that rides with you.your insurance company may not cover you if this is not fixed(possibly),every company is different.

If I switch out Body Control module on 2003 Buick Rendezvous will my old key Work or is re-programming necessary?

If you remove any Control Module it will need programming. The Body Control Module (BCM) controls your immobiliser system so a replacement unit won't recognise the key or the vehicle and the security system will 'trip' to stop the car starting. I would suggest you pay a specialist to do this because if you get it wrong it'll cause a lot more (probably expensive) problems.

Is there a fuse that controls spark to plugs on a 1999 buick century?

There is a fuse for the ignition module , ELEK IGN 15 amp . Really don't think this would be your problem , more then likely the crankshaft position sensor or the ignition module is . Your best bet have it towed to a qualified repair shop.

There are a lot of things involved in this starting system . A couple of control modules , ( BCM )- body control module ,( PCM )- powertrain control module . A starter relay in the ( BJB ) - battery junction box, A fuse # F28 15 amp in the BCM , supply's the ignition switch . Fuse # F89 40 amp. starter relay feed. With two modules involved I would bet there are codes stored in one of them. You can test from the relay base, test for power an to see if the module is controlling the relay ! I need to replace the idle control module. Where is the idle control module located of 2003 mitsubishi galant 2.0 liter engine?

We don't have a galant with a 2.0 engine in the USA - - the idle air control valve should be mounted on the side of the throttle body.

Does the bcm control the alarm in a 2006 monte Carlo? I can't seem to get the alarm to go off. I've also noticed that I have no chime and turn signal sounds. I just recently purchased this car and...

The no chime and turn signal has nothing to do with the alarm. You have a issue with power supply to turn flasher and door chime. The alarm consist of The door ajar switch, body control module, front door lock switch, power door lock switch. You need to check your fuse for turn signal and the door chime

2004 chevy malibu ignition switch

How would you like it if you replaced the switch an that wasn't the problem ? That is very possible without knowing for sure if that is the problem . Testing the electrical supply to the switch an out of the switch is the proper way to diagnose this problem. Plus the ignition switch is just a input to the BCM - body control module . The BCM is really in charge of what mode to put the vehicle in . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .

The body control module (BCM) has a bussed electrical center integrated into the housing. Body control relays and fuses are installed directly on the BCM, which simplifies wiring and junction blocks on the vehicle. The body control system consists of the BCM and its associated controls. Battery positive voltage is provided to the BCM from IBCM BATT 1 fuse and the IBCM BATT 2 fuse in the underhood fuse block. The module grounds are wired to ground G201, G203 and G305. The BCM is wired to the GMLAN High speed serial data buss, and the GMLAN Low speed serial data buss, as well as discrete input and output terminals to control the functions of the vehicle's body .
Serial Data Gateway
The body control module (BCM) in this vehicle functions as a translator between the High and Low speed GMLAN busses. The 2 communication protocols use the BCM to translate communicated serial data messages between the control modules over the 2 serial data busses.

Normal vehicle serial data communications and the control modules operations will not begin until the system power mode has been identified. Discrete wires from the ignition switch contacts are monitored by a module which acts as the power mode master (PMM) in order to determine the correct power mode. The module which is the PMM communicates the system power mode to all modules on the serial data lines. Refer to Body Control System Description and Operation to identify which module is the PMM and the applicable power mode look up table.

The one that said you may need an ignition switch has no clue as to what's up !
Install a scan tool.
Turn OFF the ignition.
With a scan tool, under Vehicle Control Systems, Computer/Integrating Systems, BCM Data menu observe the Power Mode parameter.
Does the displayed power mode parameter match the actual ignition switch position?
Go to Step 2
Go to Step 6

Turn the ignition switch to the UNLOCK position.
