A red blinking warning light in the center of the dash to the right of the clock has appeared. It looks like a red car with a black key shape horizontally laid over it. What is this indicator and what does it mean. It only comes on when the engine is off.
This is the factory installed "Security" light. It blinks to let you know that the security system is active, and to ward off potential theives. It's part of the factory anti-theft system. Also, it is a diode, and consumes virtually no battery power.
Normal condition; nothing to worry about.
Located above the message center are two lamps, red for warning and amber for caution. When a message is displayed, the appropriate lamp will illuminate to attract the driver's attention and to signify the importance of the message.
