The Cigarette lighter is run off of a 20A fuse located in the engine compartment just behind the battery. The fuse map will say P-Out and is in position #14. Hope that helps.

do not change the batery. If the car still runs fine the problem is a blown fuse. Find the fuse panel, On the back side of the fuse panel cover is the fuse location chart. Look for the cig lighter fuse it is probably 20 amp
{: ) There are two fuses that protect the front IP power outlet or lighter plugs. At the underhood fuse block, labeled CIG LTR 15amps and AUX PWR 20amps. See red arrows on diagram below.

Need to know your mocel and year to see if I have a diagram I can tell you the "cig" fuce is for the ciggarette lighter/power outlet. Some Toyota's the fuse for the radio is the "ACC" fuse and others say "RAD".
Your Mazda definitely has a safety fuse controlling the cig. lighter...Review your manual for fuse block location...(sometimes more than one:) the fuse diagraham in the manual should help find the specific fuse...labeled cig. lighter...:) You may find some extra fuses in your glove box kit...if not, they are available at most Auto Parts stores...
try getting a new lighter. if it is a fuse, it would be labeled on the cover to the fusebox. it is also common for the wiring itself which leads to the cigarette lighter to burn out.
