1994 dodge dakota my headlights and tail lights and brake lights don't work my abs and parking brake lights are on my dash lights don't work either I replaced the headlight switch and still no

These are all different circuits. The brake lights are on a 10amp fuse - the headlights are on a 50amp fuse - and the parking and dash lights are on a 20amp fuse.
Do you have power going into the headlight switch and the brake light switch ?

My brake light is on in my 91 dodge dakota

you may check the preeure sensor on the master cylinder. Also, if the switch for the parking brake is stuck closed, or if the ABS speed sensor or monule have failed, it could have cuased these sysptoms.

I own a 2001 dodge dakota 4x4, my brake lights wont work, I have park lights, turn signals, back up lights, even 4 way flashers, I replaced the brake unit on the brake pedal, and checked all fuses, they...

Hi,

When you say you checked the fuse, was this just a visual check....or did you try replacing the fuse the a new one? Sometimes a visual check doesn't show minute breaks in the fuse wire, which gives a false appearance that the fuse is fine.

When the fuse is ok, this problem normally relates to the brake switch (mounted to the brake pedal). When this switch is replaced, you should always use a multimeter and check the switch is operating correctly when touching the brake pedal.

If the switch is ok, then suspect a faulty relay (if applicable to the Dakota).

I just bought a 1995 dodge dakota 4x4 v8 magnum i have no brake lights tail lights work but nothing when i hit the brakes fuses are good PLEASE HELP

There is a switch that the brake pedal activates when depressed, and it activates the brake switch. It is called a brake sending switch/unit. They are cheap and easy to install,

1995 dodge dakota v8 -no power to brake light switch.

The brake light switch may be faulty,it has to be replaced. You can hook a Volt Ohm Meter (VOM) or test light across the switch contacts, and then press the brake pedal down to make sure the switch closes.Brake lights not working is something electrical. Check the connections at the bulb socket if the fuses are good. Connections get corroded and such and prevent power from passing. If all of the lights failed, check fuses again and check the switch that activates them. Do the running lights work? If so that points to the switch that activates the brake light curcuit.

2004 dodge dakota. brake lights not working but bulb is good. taillights and turn signals are working. Is there a mechanical switch by the brake pedal to look for??

there is a switch above the brake pedal that turns the brake lights on when u depress the pedal, use a volt meter set to DC volts and check for voltage to the switch and out of it when the brake pedal is depressed, see p[icture of switch belowe364f34.jpg

check fuse first, the brake light switch is on the upper part of the pedal, you have to be a cortorsionist to get at it, good luck
