If you have bad impact detection sensors (under the seats...little yellow bulbs) then you get the chimes.Those 'little impact sensors' are about $135 for both, and normally go bad after a collision impact. Body shops that cut corners don't replace them...but if not, then you end up with the airbag on light, and the chime. If you take out the air bag on light in the instrument cluster, you still get the chimer thingy...and every 20-minutes of driving, it will cycle through again.
