2003 Dodge Intrepid The car will not shift in the transmission after 35 mile a hour. I took it to the transmission shop. He said the transmission was fine. I had a diognostic test run on it. I was told it needed a computer module.I had that put on. It still wont shift. I dont know what to try next. Could it be the shifting module?

It might be a broken wire you need a wire diagram and a tester it will show you which should have a signal and at what speed

two issues here. this may be a low fluid issue. i would check the level of the fluid first. the next issue could be a blown shift solenoid. these are located inside of the transmission pan.also, check the filter as well.(transmission filter could be clogged)

I have a 1998 dodge intrepid 3.2 automatic having transmission shift issues

Well, unless you want to get into rebuilding your transmission, I would recommend a filter change and adding Lucas Transmission Fix. I have seen that combo fix many troublesome transmissions. Other than that, you still could have a sticky valve in the valve body or even a worn/broken band or clutch. Basically, the TCM is telling you that it commanded a gear change and it didn't see evidence of that gear change happening hence the limp mode. If the Lucas didn't fix it, and it was my car, i would get a Power Torque transmission from Oreilley's with a 3 year unlimited mile warranty, install that an be done with it- get back to enjoying the car.

How do you fix a transmission on a 2002 dodge intrepid

If you have to ask, you cant fix it. A transmission shop will have to fix it. and it wont be cheap. $1500, maybe more.

I have a 2003 dodge intrepid with a 2.7. I will drive for approx 10 or so miles, check engine light turns on, come to a stop and shifts down hard, then wont shift. Had it diagnosed, said it was stuck in...

Ok,not really enough info to come to a proper solution. It sounds like you have a serious transmission problem. Could be the torque converter clutch or circuit. I really need to know what code is being set when the light comes on to narrow it down abit. If it's a reputible shop, they should tell you what code was found. Chrysler products have a long history of trasmission problems, ranging from internal malfunctions to pcm issues. Could be a simple re-flashing of the tramission pcm. Whatever the case,a flush will not fix it & the battery is pure coincidence. There's also the possibility it's a problem with the electronics for the engine. Being you need advanced diagnostic tools, I'd take it to the dealer or a very good shop. You can't fix this at home.

Hard to move Gear Shifter in a 2000 Dodge Intrepid ES

I had the same problem after my car went into a transmission shop for some service. This might be the solution, it was with my car. Check the transmission shift cable. When mine finally failed, it was filled with rust.
You may be able to simply lubricate it somehow with something like WD40, but I'm not sure if it would work. If all else fails, you can have the shift cable replaced, which is what I had to do with my car after driving it for 2 years with that problem. By then I had worn out and warped the shifter and had to replace that too, as well as drive it around for a week without being able to get the transmission into park.
Good luck! If you have to take it to a shop, just tell them that your shift cable is going bad and you want them to make sure.

2004 Dodge Intrepid

Not sure exactly what the "solution" was but I had the problem above dated May 8th 2009. After a new solenoid kit and repeated trips to my general garage that did not help at all, I finally took the car to a local transmission place and described everything I knew about the problem, including that I was leaning towards an electrical problem now since it was happening in the rain or morning dew a lot and restarting the engine usually fixed it for a little while. He spent two hours on the car testing all wires related to the trans and making sure the wires were connected firmly into the wiring harnesses. He charged me for the two hours, no parts required. After that wire check, I have had no problems to date!

I really wish I didn't spend that $700 on the solenoid kit and labor since that obviously did not fix my problem.

2002 Dodge Intrepid transmission not shifting

Flush out your transmission with the correct type fluid, Mopar ATF+4, and correct filter. Disconnect Negative cable, to reset computer, for at least 24 hours. Check grounding straps for PCM, ensure they are tight and clean.
This method worked on my 2003 Intrepid SE, 3.5L, Police Pkg car.
Good Luck!!
