Rough idle when sitting at a red light until van warms up

When van is cold and is in gear and you have stopped, such as at a red light or stop sign, the van idles very rough and it feels like it is jerking. You can put it in park or neutral and it smooths out. But when the van reaches normal operating temp it doesn't do it.

Rough idle 95 astro van, I did a full tune up , plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter, and fuel filter and cleaned egr vavle.

I actually had to replace my EGR valve and the gasket. I clean the valve well and reused both. I don't think the gasket sealed well enough though. So I went ahead and got a new valve, gasket and changed them. It runs a lot smoother now.

2001 Nissan Altima shuts off in hot weather

it is the cam position sensor...the telltale sign of the failure is that it happens when the vehicle is warm and has been driven for a while. Sensor is about 40 bucks at the auto parts store, make sure the replacement sensor is metal, not plastic.
The main symptoms of this sensor failing are rough starts, rough idling and not starting at all especially when warm.

Idle good when cold, hotter it gets the worst it idles especially when sitting at stop lights

simple test for a vacuum brake booster
star and run the engine at idle without applying the foot brake
if it gets worse when the foot brake is applied , it is a vacuum leak in the booster ( replace the booster )
otherwise check for failed vacuum hoses including under dash control lines , vacuum leak at the manifold or EGR unit

Cold or warm idle is rough

You should look for a vacuum leak. A sucking sound, The computer cuts the ignition briefly to slow the engine down and then turns it back on.

4 cyl Engine starts and idles ok...give it throttle and it dies

I need to get a clear mental picture of what exactly is happening.

With this said, you stated that the car "runs fine" until warmed up.

Q: When you start the car when cold it idles fine?
Q: If you allow the car to idle until "fully" warmed does the car stall?
Q: As the car begins to warm up, Does the RPM fluctuate abnormally?
Q: Does the car Only stall when you press on the gas pedal or does it stall just sitting and idling in addition to pressing the gas pedal?
Q: If you can drive it while cold does the car stall during acceleration when warm or only at Stop Signs / Lights?
Q: If you wait 20min or so, can you start the car again?
Q: How many miles are on the car?
