Classic engine miss. The cause might be a faulty injector, or more likely an issue with ignition. Start it at night in the dark and look for arcing- that is the area to start. Plug wires and ignition components.

Testimonial: "thank yoj so much"

That is the torque converter clutch circuit. The engine miss is most likely to be inhibiting the converter clutch, or is interfering with it's application. Worst case, you can run without a converter clutch safely. You should check the transmission fluid level and take note of it's condition if it is dark and smells burned. A little bit of burn smell is acceptable and can be considered normal.

Something might be wrong with the electrical circuit to the solenoid. Maybe it will help if you go to this site and study the OBDII codes:

Lexus ES300 Shakes/Vibrates At 45 MPH

Major transmission problem. That's what the flashing Check Engine light means.

If the Check Engine light is on all the time, it means there is a "fault code" stored in the computer. Take it to an auto parts store (like Auto Zone) and ask them to read the codes to see what it says. They should do it for free. If they won't, go to another auto parts store.

HAVE CODE PO420 IN MY CAR NISSAN ALTIMA 2002 2.5

this is a common code on nissans and it is due to the O2S1 sensor reading that the cat is operating below threshold-can be
;
- Three way catalyst converter Bank 2
- Engine Control Module (ECM) Program
- Exhaust tube
- Intake air leaks
- Fuel injectors may be faulty
- Fuel injector leaks
- Spark plugs may be faulty
- Improper ignition timing
- Engine Control Module

most of the time it can be corrected by a nissan dealer, by reprogramming the stringent maps in the ECM, and the put out bulletins saying they would cover it if under 80,000-8 years, so that is not going to work-check the other possible issues then make calls to the dealer and see if you can get them to treat you like a future customer instead of a bother.

01 Nissan Altima check engine light code

If you get the P0740 code it means there is a problem with either the torque converter or the control system for the torque converter in your car. It might be such a slight problem that you don't notice anything, or it may be totally UN-drivable. It depends on what part of the system failed and how badly it failed. To fix it, it can be anything from a simple fluid and filter change (to get debris out of the fluid that might be clogging the solenoid up), or it could be an electrical problem (such as the solenoid, or wiring) or it could be the torque converter itself has failed (which would mean the entire transmission is likely ruined from the debris). It IS definitely a difficult problem to diagnose, and impossible to diagnose without taking anything apart (or at least test driving it with some diagnostic equipment). Starting with the basic (inexpensive) stuff like a fluid flush and filter change and working your way up from there is usually the best way to go, as long as the car is still drivable. Hope this helps

This is a transmission failure code. The transmission is going into "limp" mode. Recommend to have local repair shop perform further diagnosis. Possible transmission failure.
