What you would need to do is to have the battery leads checked to see if it is producing the right amount of current sufficent enough to charge battery. This can be done with a diagnostics tool usually at your local auto repair store. This is make sure that your alternator is working properly. Then you need to make sure leads are securely tightened to battery terminals. Leads must be free of dirt and corrosion to ensure proper bonding. You can clean these with a small wire brush. Good luck

I have a 1993 Toyota Celica ST, 1.6. A few days ago my car begun losing power and ended up turning off. I tried starting again after letting it sit and it would make it down the road a few miles before...

To test a altinator the easy way without special tools, start the car, remove the negative battery cable. If it stays running, the altinator is good. I had the same type of problems. It's probably your ignition coil/coils going bad. Try replacing it and cleaning inside distributer cap & rotor.

I have a 1990 sx corolla the car won't start the reds on the dash don't even appear but my headlights work and the blinkers the battery is fine and i just changed the altinator what else could

If the warning lights do not come on and the car will not start, I would guess the key switch has failed or a major fuse is blown.
I would check the fuses first, then for power at the key switch.

All dash lights on won't start just clicking only

the dashlights should go off when it starts , that should be normal .
sounds like your batterie is flat. try to jumpstart it or charge the batterie overnight and try to start it.
if it runs after that and the dashlights dont turn off it could be your altinator. use a multimeter, set it to 20 v and connect it to the batterie while the engine runs, it should get more than 13,5 v. if you dont have a multimeter go to aany carbatterieshop and ask them to test yout altinator. its free usually. also let them check your batterie.

Our 2007 odyssey the battery died after only one year. Bought new one now four days later car won't start again. We left no lights on or radio, not even the dvd player. What's wrong with this...

Battery might have died cause the altinator is not charging 14+V Please charge the battery, donot boost the dead battery. After charging the battery check the altinator output.

I have a 2001 galant v6 and my battery isn't being

The altinator is missing ground, any time you remove the battery and the engine dies, that only means that the altinator is not charging, there has to be a fuse for charging systme.

1988 Toyota pickup will not start after changing altinator. no lights in dash and will not start. battery charging head lights work great

Check fuse-able links, check by gently pulling apart the wires on either side of the fuse-able links, be sure to try to check them all, it helps to mark the ones you check to avoid constant rechecking and getting "lost" on which ones have been checked. Hope this helps.

My 2002 jeep wrangler check gauges light came onand the battery gauge is below the left dot on the gauge. does that mean i have to replace the battery?

With the jeep running put a volt meter on the battery and it should be reading above 13 volts if not replace the altinator it isn't charging. You can check the fuse for the altinator first if not charging but most likely the altinator is bad.

1991 Dodge 4x4 truck altinator will not charge, new altinator, all fuses are good and serkets. Altinator will not charge.

Change voltage regulator. Does the battery take a charge from a charger? If not, replace battery. If it does, then regulator is faulty. If still nothing, return alternator to place of purchase, and have it checked.
