When vehicle is warm here a strange almost popping noise from passanger side of vehicle as soon as u let of gas noise is gone also must be med to hard acceleration cannot get it to make noise by power braking or up on a lift have takin belt off and drivin noise still there heatshield seems ok baffled
SOURCE: misses during acceleration , rough
Go get the codes ran at auto zone or advance auto parts they will do it for free. If the codes come up as a cylinder miss-fire then it is most likely a coil (being a ford). Write down which cylinder it is. I wouldn't replace any of the spark plugs , useless you have more than 100,000 miles. If you have to replace the spark plugs use BOSH double plautim or better. The cylinder placing is ( as your are looking at the front of the truck) passenger side front to back 1-2-3-4 driving side front to back 5-6-7-8. If you never seen a coil buy one so you know what you are looking for. The coil is held in by a 7mm bolt. Take the bolt out and replace the coil. Problem Solved. Estimated time 20 Mins with 60 dollars per coil.

Sounds like a bad idler pulley,or belt tensioner. Most likely not water pump since the check engine light is not on. Altho it couold be the water pump and for some reason (bad sensor, burnt out light) the check engine isnt coming on. Either way it would be best to have it looked at.

It sounds like the fuel is not being delivered sufficently to the engine. Try looking here. Perhaps a fuel injecter cleaner (you can pour Seafoam into the gas tank and it is a great fuel injecter cleaner and fuel stabilizer). What did your plugs look like when you replaced them? This can tell you a lot about the combustion chamber. A Haynes manual will be invaluable to you.

check transmission fluid.change fuel filter and air filter.try changing up on where you buy gas .because bad gas causes problems.

When a coil pack starts to go bad,or spark plug wiring,or even the spark plugs, you can get that backfire type of sound. How many miles on it?
A bad coil pack will show up in the OBDII codes.Auto-Zone will read them for you.
