My 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse 1996 2.0 turbo will turn over but it wont start. We checked the spark plugs and cleaned them. Our battery seems it wont keep the jucie and its brand new but it has been sitting for a month and half. Would my battery be its problem if it doesnt have enough juice or should I keep looking at the coil, disturbutor and spark plugs?

ok heres the thing when a car sets for a long time you have to do more then just clean the tank you also need to flush and replace all fluids in it and replace the fuel filter (that one is key because it empties out the fuel lines and injectors) and also please do youself a favor and replace the timing belt i can not stress that enough every 60,000 miles or 18 months please just to be safe replace the timing belt these 6 bolt 2.0 engines are great and so easy and cheap to build but if you brealk that timing belt you will be buying a new engine but truth be told sonds like you have and intake sensor thats gone out pop ur air can off and check the mas for a wasp nest or something like that
SOURCE: crankshaft position sensor location
Hello. One way to check if it is working is when you try to start the car does the needle move on you tac? If not then your crank sensor is more then likely the problem. It is located on the backside of the engine under the intake manifold. If is in about the center of the block. There will be a 10mm bolt holding the sensor in. If you decide to change it yourself (not to terrible of a job) unplug the sensor, remove the bolt and spin it back and forth slightly while pulling it out. It may be stoburn and you might have to work at it for a little bit (not a done of room) but it will come. When it's out the sensor will be shaped kind of like an L. I have changed a few of these over time and they can be a little stoburn. To install just reverse the process.

on a 95 model, it is located above the fuel tank in the rear of the vehicle
SOURCE: how to remove broken key from the ignition switch
e
if it's broken off just to the inside of the
ignition, try using two sewing needles. use them like prybars one on
each side. even try a strong magnet. duct tape pushed into the lock to
the key might even work. if know one knows but you and you can still
start and lock and unlock the car why worry.
