2000 dodge neon will not start unless the cam shaft sensor is unplugged

I have check the timing over and over, replaced the cam sensor and crank sensor, replace the wiring harness and check the cam shaft magnet! And i have checked the cam shaft sprocket pin to make sure it was not gone " just in case the cam timing mark was off" i dont know what else to check here...... any help would be great!!! ps the only thing i can think of is to replace the computer under the hood again thanks chris

Did you check the fuses?  Dodges are known for having the cam sensors go out.  Maybe the aftermarket sensor has a minute gap difference than the factory part?  A 1/32" gap difference can be the difference between a functional sensor and a bad reading.

i have looked at the fuse in the car and under the hood. All to look good and not burnt.
is there a specific one to look at? and yes it is a aftermarket sensor from the local parts house

Take a test light and have someone else crank the car.  Probe each wire going into the cam sensor and see if there is a pulse.  Probably not a fuse that is your problem.

i can bolt on the bad cam sensor and plug it in and the car starts. but the check engine light comes on saying P0340 codes, after i take the old cam sensor off and and bolt on the new one and plug it in . the code goes away. but doesnt start unless its unplugged

I would go and but a cam sensor from the dealer. Aftermarket cam sensors can be slightly irregular. I had this happen to me with an aftermarket ABS sensor on a chevy. The whole problem was a gap difference equal to two sheets of paper. Whats happening is there is an open circuit in your old sensor that causes the check engine light but the new one has a good circuit but bad reading. I would say that is your problem.

I have a 2005 dodge neon that will crank but wont start. I have replaced the cam shaft sensor, crank sensor and the coil pack. Iam also not getting spark to the coil pack. Any suggestions?

Primary voltage to several systems, including the ignition coil, dark green wire with orange tracer. That voltage comes from asd relay. There is a fuse for asd relay. To check for voltage the engine has to cranking. The control side of asd relay, the computer has to ground it before it will energize. Did you check wiring circuits for cam and crank sensor connectors before replacing sensors? Are there any applicable trouble codes?
Are you ok with testing wiring circuits?

2000 dodge neon cranks but wont start. If i unplug the cam sensor it will run for a second ( with it plugged in there is no spark coming from the coil)

You just proved that the cam belt has skipped time. That is the procendure to check. Remove the covers and line up the marks and you'll see your problem. while you have the belt off put on a new one as it should'nt skip unless it's worn out.
