Driver/passenger air vents blow hot then cold when using A/C. Back to cold when you restart the vehicle. Upvote (35) ... 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe ... I have a 02 Tahoe ,and the heat system is working only on the ceiling side of the car when turn.
Okay, so I tried that and it still does the same thing. How tough is an actuator to replace? I am fairly competent mechanically...Is this a project I could take on? Any idea where I could learn more about it?
Odd about the timing - but I have the exact same problem with my 2004 Avalanche - seems to have just started this issue this week (or might be the first time that I have used the heater)....
The passenger side heats fine, but the drivers side & back only blows cool air. I'll try the disconnect the battery solution first and post back how/if that worked.
I have the same problem on my 2007 Avalanche. The only difference, is my heater blows out cool air from both sides of the cabin at around 80 degrees. If I crank up the heat to 90 degrees, the heater blows out hot air. Took it straight away to the dealer and he wanted to charge me 98$ to look at it and if he had to replace the actuators, that they would be around 240$ each plus labor.
My 04 Avalanche also won't blow hot air out any of the dash vents, no matter what you set the temp at. It blows cold air out of the windshield vents only. I tried unhooking the battery for over 5 minutes and did not make any difference.
If it is the mode actuator, how hard is it to replace?
I have a very similiar issue on a 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche Z71 with Automatic Climate control. Temperature adjustment is not working correctly. Blows cold air most of the time and will get hot if cranked up to 90 degrees and then you feel like you are on fire. Thought that it was a thermostat problem or water pump issue. But this makes more sense, being a Electronic climate control issue.
2004 Tahoe A/C works fine, but no heat from either left or right side unless it is turned up to 90 (max heat). Either side will work only when set at 90
You can hear something when going from 89 to 90 or 90 down.
Tried disconnecting battery and heater control wires at dash.
My 2006 avalanche heater will not blow out any heat
