SOURCE: 2005 grand prix HUD can only be seen when i look below steering..
I have a 2004 Grand Prix GTP with the hud. Mine doesn't work either, but I think I've narrowed it down to the motor inside which powers the mirror. My switch works fine as I can see the light from the hud when i look really low aka in line with the steering wheel. I believe either something has been disconnected or else the motor gave out. In order to fix this the dash will need to be torn apart. I didn't get an estimate because I will probably do this myself as I'm a mechanic. Hope this helps you!

It was the Cat. Converter on mine, Don't drive it like that too long as it will send exhaust back through the EGR Valve and burn a hole in the Intake Plenum....
SOURCE: HUD
There is a spring inside the HUD and it has probably come off. The samething happened to mine. I had to take it out myself and fix it. Majorhassle. The dealer wanted over 600.00 to do the same.
SOURCE: HUD stuck in up position
This just happened to me and apparently is happening to everyone right about now. Solution:
