Have taken car into a dealer and have been advised that if battery has gone flat, the sensors will need resetting, to do this, disconnect freshly charged or replaced battery for two to three minutes, reconnect, turn key to position two and operate window. Hold button down and wait for click (window open), close window and hold button in close position until you hear the click. This should reset the sensors to open and close positions. Juddering maybe caused by build up of grime in slider, squirt some silicone based lubricant into window slider/guide, this should help. If none of this helps, it could mean that the motors need replacing.

Hi, I have a brake pedal judder which is intermittent and varies in intensity. Initially I thought it was an oval rear drum but all is OK.

It is not possible to provide a suggested diagnosis without knowing the YEAR, MAKE, and MODEL of your vehicle.
That being said, the "judder" (vibration) that you feel in your brake pedal may be a warped front rotor or a sticking front brake caliper. The stuck front brake caliper may be caused either by a sticky caliper piston, or by a worn brake line that prevents pressure from releasing from the caliper.

How hard is it to change out the power lock mechanism in the drivers door?

It is fairly easy, You have to remove the door panel, take off your watch and put on some rubber gloves, the gum that prevents the wind from coming through the door is super sticky, ok, first, look for fasteners at the bottom of the door hidden under little trim caps, then look behind the handle for a screw, then look down in the armrest for more screws, then, when you have the door loose on the bottom, pop the plastic clips that hold the rest of it on, then pop it straight up past the door lock, It is a little tricky, once you get it off and dangling by wires, rest it on something so it doesn't hit the floor, Now peel off the sticky stuff carefully in front of the lock, The electric part is down near the handle, it is bolted to the frame and has two rods going to it, one up, one down, remove the whole thing, pull the wires, put in the new one, remember how it was, then put the whole mess back together after you check to make sure it works. It might be the switch, they get wet when the window is down in the rain, and they quit working. Check it out, hope this helps.

then unlock the car with the remote, car reset.
sit in car with engine on,switch off engine(do not open any door)driver can open/close any window(you can even put your hand into window frame and it will rollback, all on its(not for fun)
if windows rollback after you have used button to close them you may have sticky runners/rubbers.

Electric window only goes down half way

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Pull back the weather seal. It sounds like the guide rails may be loose and snagging the window. Or your regulator may be broken (not likely)

Front drivers side window misalignment

Take the door panel off slowly because it's only held on with plastic clips. There is a plastic inner to the door, cut this carefully with a sharp knife, so you can repair with gaffer tape later. Lower the window, dont put your hands ANYWHERE near the movement at the moment. Now, slowly click the switch so the window goes up, dont press and hold, or it will go up all the way. (as you know) as the mecanised system goes up, it looks like a pair of scissors, watch where the window grabs, it will be plainly obvious, the window will start to judder. click the switch once moreto see where the scissor action is failing. Once you have found that, grease that area as much as possible. lower the window again, raise the window, if it sticks, lower it again and carry on until the grease works into the scissor action, don't try to actually take the window out, it's arder to get back in, start the engine (cos it does take a lot outof the battery) and just keep lowering and raising the window until the grease works in. Once that has been done, close the window up to the full height, tape the plastic back in place, because the door speaker could get damaged, and clip the door panel back in place. Job Done. Hope all goes well, let me know, regards, Dave

How to get to stop light in back window of 95 lincoln cont. Bulb is burnt out. do we change from trunk side or inside of car? also have a problem with interior lights staying on for a long time after car...

First, the stop light bulb is accessible from inside the car. The cover can be removed by pressing down on the center of the unit and pull back toward the front of the car. Once off, you will have access to the bulb itself

You have a sticky door switch. Apart from replacement, best course of action is to spray the switch (all throughout the inside of the door/lock) with WD-40. Since you're unsure which switch is sticking, repeat this procedure on all doors. Once thoroughly lubricated, open and close the doors several times. This should fix your sticky switch problem.. Best of luck.
