I have a 2001 Ford F150 and when I accelerate it bucks, hesitates, and sputters, but when i let off the accelerater it quits, feels like it is not getting enought fuel. No Engine Light comes on. Had my fuel pump and and filter replace about 2 months ago. Also, just replace Idle Control Valve and cleaned out Throttle Body, MAF sensor, but not luck!!

May be a bad crank, cam or knock sensor. Cars today are loaded with sensors.
If you don't read the codes you will be chasing the rabbit down the hole. ;-)
Hope this helps

If you disconnected the Mass air flow sensor the car should have die out at idle. Check fuel pump pressure at the fuel rail should be 30 psi at idle. Low fuel pressure will cause your po 171, 172, problems which could cause the other to problems. You might be needing a fuel pump and filter.

Check vacuum hoses to MAP sensor. They can get porous after a while. Also check hose to EGR valve.

How to detect a vacuum leak

The easiest way is to use an accelerant and spray the suspected lines while the engine is running. Your engine will rev up when the leak is hit by the spray. You can use ether, commonly found as a starting aid for diesel engines,a lot of garages use the oxy/acetalyne torch, you could use a propane torch.
