There is most likely a software error. Your 2014 BMW has a full maintenance and service warranty for 4 years or 50,000 miles. Never try to fix anything yourself during this period, or BMW may void your warranty. Just bring the car to any BMW dealer and it will be fixed for free. The maintenance also covers free wiper blades, lightbulbs, windshield washer fluid, brakes, oil changes and anything that can go wrong except for a collision, or worn out tires. You have a good car with a great service warranty - don't mess with it yourself!
(I have a 2014 BMW 328 GT X-drive.)
Radio failures occur regularly after all they are prone to shorts , over voltage, surges, incorrect polarity hook up etc. The problem I think is that the radio installer hesitates to work on your unit because he may want approval from bmw to work on it possibly under warranty. Some vehicles state that any unauthorised work voids warranty. Clear the air with the radio teck and find out his problem exactly and if still in doubt take it somewhere else.
Your battery will be a top post 600 (CCA) Cold Cranking Amp battery. Cost you around $100 for a good mid-level battery. I would get one with no less than a 2 year full warranty and 6 year partial warranty. NAPA, Auto Zone, Advance Auto Parts all have decent batteries.
70%? That's a pretty good offer on their part. The 5 year motor plan is an independent warranty company and they probably wouldn't warranty it past 100k. BMW is bending the rules for you by offering anything. If it was any other car manufacturer, they would've have literally laughed at you and told you to take on the warranty company. I understand your frustration, but a couple of notes re: your issues - oil lights only come on when oil is REALLY low, not when being burned. The other, having ANY company offer any warranty over 100k is amazing. If I were you, I would accept the 70%. Trust me, if you offer resistance, they can easily retract that offer and then where do stand?
