The hazard switch is also the device that supplies the turn signal "flash". If you continue to hear the noise of the turn signal flashing when the turn signals off than the problem is the turn signal switch. It is grounding The purple wire from the hazard switch which makes the hazard switch think the turn signal is on. The fix for this is to relace the turn signal/multi-function switch. Typically they will start to go bad in stages. Your symptom is the first stage. Eventually either the turn signals or the brake lights will also sto working. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

It makes sence, since these electrical situations begin in stages. I'll try your solution with a new relay and trust will correct situation.

I need to find the flasher relay for a grand marquis 2001 .does it has one? My turn signals wont work I can hear the sound but don't even flash

Yes, it does have a flasher, although it may be a combined unit with the hazard flashers relay. So you hear the clicking of the flasher relay? That seems to indicate the relay is working properly. Have you checked the bulbs and the turn signal fuse? Any turn signal bulbs light up anywhere, front or back?
How about your brake lights, do they work? Your car may have separate, stand alone turn signals in the rear, but many American cars use the same bulb and same filament on the bulb for the brake lights and turn signals. If your merc is like this and the brake lights work, then the bulb must be good.
Turn on the hazard flashers and see if all bulbs work and flash at each corner of the car. This would be the same bulb as for the turn signals. If they work, it could be a bad turn signal switch, may even be the flasher relay somehow malfunctioning, and in a few cases, a bad hazard switch can affect the turn signal switch. Check fuses and bulbs first. If you have any type of body control module that controls lights and other accessories, you may have to investigate that. I know I'm not being very helpful, just throwing out a few suggestions. Good luck.

How to locate and change a flasher relay on an audi A2 . The hazard warning side is working fine. When the indicators are turned on you can hear an audible click but nothing after that

The relay is built into the hazard switch. If the turn signals already failed it's only a matter of time until the hazards fail as well. Replace the hazard switch and you'll be good to go.

Turn signals do not operate front or rear. Headlamps, brakes, and hazards fine. No clicking when signal is used either, nothing.

It sounds like the turn signal relay has gone bad, The clicking sound you hear when they work is the relay working, The hazard lights have their own relay that is why they still work. Your owners manual should tell you where to find the relays but if you don't have it anymore turn on the hazards and see if you can follow the noise and both relays should be located in the same place, you should be able to pick one up at any good parts store.
