check cluster if bad replace

You may have to replace the cluster in the dash. Sometimes those fuses go. On my 750il the eml light went out on the dash and made the whole car go into limp mode.

No, the fuel gauge not working wouldn't have anything to do with your not starting problem , probably the gauge is bad . With the SECURITY light lit , anti-theft system problem ! Service light ????? Service engine soon ? Or service vehicle ? With the light's on code's DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes are stored . Have it checked , don't guess as to what the problem is. This would prevent the buying of un needed parts .

When the security light comes on, it means that there is a failure in the anti theft system. It will either shut off the starter or turn off the injectors. The other lights being on are a result of the key being turned forward and the vehicle not running. If its 1998 or older, i know the security issue will not show up on a diagnostic machine. Especially if its at auto zone or some place like that. If the car doesnt run or start, and its on this list.

check the connector at the temp gauge sending unit, it may be corroded, engine movement causes the connection to make and break and this gives the fluctuation in the needle of the gauge..

I had the same problem with my 2001 Pontiac Montana and the intake manifold gasket. This is a major problem with these 3.4L engines, if you are in the states I'm pretty sure there is a class action law suite against GM for this. I had my manifold gasket replaced and it was about $1000 CAD. You need to get your vehicle looked at right away as this could cause major engine damage, coolant will leak into the engine and soon enough you will be replacing that too. Good Luck

Have you taken the shifter light out(easiest to check)removed the globe and checked for power at the globe socket and wether the globe is still working?
