First off, don't expect them to just fall off after removing the large nut in the center of the hub. I tried that. Granted, the nut does need to come off, but, after removing the caliper, there's four more bolts that come in from the backside that also need to be removed. This then allows you to remove the front spindle, hub, and rotor as an assembly. Watch your toes! Also note how the dust shield is sandwiched in amongst all of this. Once this assembly is off, the wheel studs can be driven out with a hydraulic press (no small feat), and the rotor falls away from the hub

mopr is wrong the four bolts he has obviously never done this before. this is a huge pain in the ****. , remove the castle nut and the four bolts on the back side and you will have to drive off the wheel studs to get the bearing/hub assembly off of the rotor. good luck youll need it .

SOURCE: I have 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4X4 gas engine and it

The problem I had with my '89 Dakota was it would suddenly stop running while driving. After from 10 minutes to an hour I could start it up and drive on. It started happening more and more often. I was in a rush to get the truck running so I replaced both the computer and the timing module in the distributor to fix the problem. However, I suspect the real problem was the timing module was failing causing the engine timing to go out of spec and computer sensed it and shut down the ignition to safeguard the engine.

Good Luck, Bob

SOURCE: What does code ccd mean on overhead display 1997

It means "Crystal Clear Display" but in basic term its called a ccd bus, basically the OH console module is not communicating with body control module so you want to check power and ground pins or you just might have a bad module, sorry.
A self-diagnostic test is used to determine that the
compass mini-trip computer module is operating
properly electrically.

CCD communications test.
Following completion of these tests, the compass
mini-trip computer will display one of three
messages: “PASS,” “FAIL,” or “CCd.”

if the “CCd” message is displayed, the use of a
DRBt scan tool and the proper Diagnostic Procedures
manual are required for further diagnosis.

Are Dodge Chrysler and Dodge 1500 pick up brakes and rotor the same?

Question edited for clarity and spelling and added a few capital letters. Wrong type of break > brake.

Don't sweat the details, just buy the right part.

How to change parking brakes on 2003 dodge ram

  • 1 Determine which type of emergency brakes your Dodge Ram will need. Emergency brakes typically function by activating the regular braking system on the driving wheels. The emergency brakes for the Dodge Ram have used rear disc brakes since 2001.
  • 2 Release the parking brake pedal completely and raise your vehicle. Remove the tire and wheel with a socket wrench and disconnect the brake caliper from the caliper adapter. Slide the rotor from the axle shaft.
  • 3 Install the new brake rotor onto the axle shaft and complete the installation by reversing the removal steps.
  • 4 Tighten the wheel mounting nuts in the proper sequence with a torque wrench until the nuts are torqued to 47.5 foot/pounds Repeat the tightening sequence to torque the nuts to 95 foot/pounds.
  • 5 Apply and release the park brake pedal to seat and adjust the parking brake cables. Road test the vehicle to ensure the vehicle's brake system is functioning.
  • 6 Place tool C-3919 or the equivalent over the park brake shoes and use the star wheel adjuster to lower the park brake shoes until the lining just touches the jaws on the tool.

Our 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 van won't start arfter it has sat over night and it has rained. It takes an hour of trying to start it before it will fire up again. Any theories or solutions?

I've got a 95 Dodge 1500 Ram pickup. It has the same problem. I've got a 5.9 engine in it and the distributer is located right under the seam where the hood closes against the cowl panel. I suspect moisture is somehow working it's way into the distributer cap. Try replacing the distributer cap & rotor. If at night when you open the hood with engine running and don't see a "Light Show" from the wires I would spray the ends going in the cap with WD 40. If you do see a "Light Show" replace the wires, and then spray the ends with WD 40. It displaces water and moisture. This should cure your problem.

Need to remove and replace rear rotor

You have to remove the axle shafts first as it has a full-floating axle, then pull rotor and hub off the axle housing. Unbolt rotors from hub. Check bearings and seals in hubs and the axle snouts where the bearings run before installing. Put new flange gaskets on axle and torque flange bolts to 95 ft-lbs.
