The security light will only flash if theres a problem, are you talking about when the alarm is on and car is off the secuirty light doesnt flash, if thats the problem then the alarm may not be arming or the light is bad, there may be a module problem.

This is not as big and expensive of a problem as it used to be. This is a communication error between the key, the ignition/lock cylinder, and the TDM. (Theft Deterrent Module) The hard part is finding which one is failing. You could chase this problem around into the thousands of dollars range. Or you can just bypass the whole system and never worry again.... This link explains how to bypass, symptoms of security failure, explanation why, and informative pictures. If the security light is on then the car thinks someone is trying to steal it. If you can’t make the remote work then you might be able to clear it by disconnecting the Negative battery cable for about 10 minuets

Ypur security system is armed, if you was try unlock procedure from owners manual and wont work, its possible that you will need visit your dealer to reprogramming.

Try putting the key in the driver's door and locking/unlocking it. This will often reset the onboard security.

I have a 2001 Olds Intrigue that won't start every once in a while. When it won't start the security light flashes so GM told me it was the passcode and I would have to change the ignition switch...

you can not bypass the security in that car, it is built into the main computer, they have problems with the ignition switch screwing up and the only way to start it while the light flashes is to turn the key to ON but don't crank engine, leave on for 10 to 15 minutes until light goes out then start car.

2003 ram was fine. Locked it went inside came back out 15 minutes later and it won't even turn over. The security light is flashing.

If your security light is flashing the alarm is active you need to deactivate it

put key in ignition and turn all the way like your'e going to start it but don't start it. the security light is going to be flashing. leave it for ten minutes like that until the security light turns solid(not blinking). Turn the key to off and then start it. The tumblers in the ignition lock cylinder are no good any more and the ignition switch needs to be replaced and reprogrammed.

When I try to start car, it won't start and security light blinks. I'v e had to ignition switches put on before and I had a new key made. Car still won,t start.

If any of the gauges are blinking and going haywire and the security light flashing then the instument cluster is faulty.But if it is just the security light flashing then its in the switch.If you only had the switch replaced then you need a new ignition lock cylinder because its worn out.
