Hi there, I have a Volvo 240 1992. The problem i'm having is there is no spark coming out directly from the coil. I have replaced the coil with a new one and the lead that runs from the coil to the distributor cap. There is power going to the coil and coming out. Please can someone help?
Try a new engine rpm speed sensor. It is located at the back-top of engine block where it mates to trans. You will need to remove a single bolt (10mm socket or wrench). You may have to wiggle the sensor to lift it out. Another symtom you may experience, is when you are cranking the car to start, it will buck and act like it is out of time. Another possible component is the ignition power stage/amplifier.

The other surgestion you made was the ignition power stage/amplifier. Is this also known as an ignition module and if it is can you please tell me where it is situatated
Many thanks

Sounds like the same problem I'm having. I've tried to find the ignition inline fuse which I think is the problem but I can't find it anywhere. The book says its above the left front fender but its not.
