The plug wires have nothing to do with the engine not being cranked over by the starter.

If you hear a single click every time you try to start the vehicle and the starter doesn't not turn the engine over than the starter is most likely the problem.

This procedure usually works:
·Check the battery cable connections:
Make sure the positive cable, makes a good connection at the battery and at the starter. Make sure the negative cable makes a good ground connection at the battery and (preferably) at the engine.

·Check the battery the simple way, like this:
Turn on the headlights, then try to start the car.If the headlights do not dim or go out, then the battery is likely ok.

·Check the starter and solenoid:
If the wiring looks ok, then look at the starter solenoid for a good connection, and proper voltage at the starter(10 volts minimum while cranking).
If the starter spins and no crank, the problem is most likely the Solenoid's pinion gear is stuck.
Have someone hit (not too hard) the starter while you try to start the car. This usually works by dislodging a stuck pinion gear.
·Make a simple test of the alternator:
If you can, somehow get the engine running, measure the voltage at the battery. It should be at least 13.6 volts to properly charge the battery.

SOURCE: My 1995 acura integra clicks when i try to start

it sound like the starting solenoid pull starter usually solenoid is connected to starter have both tested at auto parts store AZ, PB's or any of the big auto part stores can test them for you. Battery might be old and no longer holds enough amps to turn over starter.

Sounds like you have a bad battery cable connection at the battery or the starter. Take the cables off and clean the battery post and cable ends. check to ensure the cable at the starter is tight with a good connection. With it clicking it sounds to be one of these problems but a possible bad solenoid. I would not mess with the distributor as you will start getting into some money, when these few things could be your problem solver. Good Luck.

Car won't start right away.

The clicking is the solenoid in your starter, you need to check your battery terminals, then check your starting voltage with a multi meter on DC volts, put the leads on your battery terminals if your battery voltage is dropping below 11 volts you need to get a new battery.... you need to check the connections to your starter....

Intermittent dead ignition to dead ignition

This problem is usually caused by a failing neutral safety switch. Try moving the shifter when it is dead. Will it start in neutral? Move the shifter while trying to start (foot on brake!)

95 Acura Integra starting problem

This happened to me on a 95 Integra GSR and the entire starter did not need to be replaced, just the solenoid pieces. They get old and worn down and the plunger no longer makes a good connection with them, hence the "click". Replace the solenoid panels and sand the plunger and your good as new. You can find instructions for this on the net, just do a search for it.

95 acura integra won't start - i have lights, chimes and instrumentation - it has been making a clicking noise lately, before starting - now, nothing! can you help?

Definitely sounds like it's time to replace the starter. To verify make sure your getting 12v on the small gauge wire at the starter while trying to crank. If you have power at that wire while cranking replace the starter.

Starter problems

Try to check battery. If it is fully charged it might be still starter.
Beacause you used rebuilt starter. For most Acura, Honda, Toyota
using rebuilt starter is not appropriate as it wont do the same job as brand new. You have to use brand new.
Good Luck
