Replaced plugs , (no obvious signs of deteriation) together with a visual check of the 6x coils , again no sign of discolouration or cracking ,but miss still persist after approx 10 mins driving. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. RB 25 DE engine 1997 nissan stagea
The first step is to locate the miss. drive until it skips, then have someone hold the brake and put in drive. this is done to make skip more noticeable , next start to uplg one coil at a time or remove one sparkplug wire at a time until you locate the cylinder that the engine idle doesnt drop any, that will be the missing cylinder. next swap coil with another cylinder if they are coil packs. one for each cylinder and then start engine and recheck. if the miss moves with the coil then its a bad coil. if this uses a coil that runsa couple on cylinders then remove plug wire at the coil and see if it sparks at tower for plug wire, if theres no spark then replace coil. start with this test then we will move onto injectors if this tests good, i think you will find a bad coil as it heats up it looses power due to a bad coil . i may be wrong so thats why we will test first. another way is to go to an auto parts store and scan the computer to see what cylinder is missing and then reset codes and swap coil with another cylinder and see if the code changes then that would tell you its also a coil, good day

Taylor;
I was able to find a service manual for my 97 Infinity Q45 on Ebay. It was in the form of a DVD. A very detained replica of the papeer service manual. What's more it only cost me about $15.00 including postage. Try a general search "Automobile service manuals" and specific search like "Infinity Q45"
There are Ebay "stores" that do nothing but sell manuals, either paper or DVD.
Hope this helps Good luck Loringh PS Please leave a rating if appropriate. Thanks

Unable to gain access to plugs or coils without removal of phlem chamber, centre engine valley cover , etc ( well hidden), so have ordered a set of coils to try. Hopeing this will fix the problem , as miss only appears once engine warms up.
Glen, have you had the computer scaned for any stored codes? also i think you are on the right path, replace coils as you have replaced the plugs already and i have a feeling that you may have a coil actting up, the last thing i would also do is to add seafoam to gas tank, this helps clean fuel system ,valves injectors, etc.
SEA FOAM
Thanks for all your help . Turned out to be a intermittent coil break down , when warm.
