Changed fuel filter. after it dies if i hold petal to floor it will restart. not sure but seems like last time it died i didnt hear fuel pump running after turning key off and back on. it has died three times in 2 weeks. once before i changed filter and twice after. foot was not on accelerator was coasting each time it has died

How many miles on your Durango? This could be a failing U joint on either driveshaft. Could also be a ties out of balance or going bad.
Since the vibration goes away when coasting, I am voting for a driveline issue.

Fuel burned out of the bowl? A 95' with carburetor ? Wrong year or what?

You should definitely replace the fuel filter though this probably won't fix your hesitation. It wouldn't hurt to replace the spark plugs this is usually the culprit on these engine. I have the same engine in a '99 caravan and found the for some reason the spark plugs on cylinder 3 and 4 loosen up after one year and cause a misfire between 45 and 50 mph under load (when mildly accelerating).

It sounds like it could be the transfer pump. Turn the key on and then crank the engine for about 1 second but leave the key in the run position and listen for the transfer pump to run. It should run for about 15 seconds after you stop cranking. If not, then you will need to replace the transfer pump with a in-the-tank conversion kit if your is mounted on the side of the engine block below the fuel filter housing. If you already have the in-the-tank pump then it might be siezed or the "sock" might be plugged up with alge or other contaminants. I usually lift the bed rather than removing the tank to replace the fuel module. If the check engine light is on you might want to have it scanned for codes to make sure since the modules can be spendy.
