According to the Mitchel manual it takes 2.29 qts. of "manual tranmission fluid" and 5% friction modifier. Make sure you use the correct fluid. I would stop by your local Chevy dealer and as the shop exactly which fluid to use.

Transmission fluid is about 5 qts for a filter change and 13 qts for a rebuild. I would check the dipstick just to be sure, if it has one. Other wise it has 2 bolts on the side of the tranny, one for fill, one for the level, fill it up through the top hole till it weeps out the bottom, it should be full.
