When you turn the key to start the vehicle it immediately blows the 15amp fuse listed as "engine ign". We had a few people tell us we needed a new computer and we found one and put it in and now it is still doing the same thing. If anyone has had this problem or knows what I can check to fix it, I would greatly appreciate the advice. If it makes any difference, the car has a manual transmission.
This is definantly a wiring problem, first of all you will need to check the wiring to your ignition and your starting system to see if you can visually see any wires that are shorting out on something metal or with another wire. Check the wires going to your starter, your coil, your altenator, and remove the cover on your steering column and check there as well then start looking under the dash. If you have had any sort of accident then check for damaged wires in that particular area. If there has been any electrical work done to your car then check in this particulararea as well. in the mean time you should get a breaker to replace the fuse with as when the breaker blows it will actually reset itself after a few seconds as it cools off ( while it trips and cools off it will click ).This may help as you have someone turn the key you my be able to see where the wire is sparking as it shorts out and it will save you money on fuses as you diagnose your problem. Wiring can be very difficult and time consuming to locate where the actual problem lies. Good luck I hope that this helps you and remember to rate all solutions that you get, thanx.
