Trans Promblem not sure what's wrong...

Ok today I was driving down the interstate and my started to smoke as soon as I noticed I pulled over and opened the hood. The next thing I saw was trans fluid was everywhere. I did check the lines running from the trans cooler to the trans and there fine. Also drain plug is snug as well but it looks like its coming from my vent hose on top of the trans. I am having a great friend ASE Master Tech coming tomorrow to take a look and figure what the heck is going on but I am curious what is going on. Also I did take it to Advance and it did throw a code for a Trans temp sensor malfunction what on earth that means I have no clue unless that's where my problem is. Also I filled the car back up with more trans fluid and car is still running fine it's not slipping through gears so if anyone has or had the same problem or even knows what on earth is wrong with my poor awesome car please help thanks.

SOURCE: VSC, Trac off, and check engine lights are on

I took mine to the dealer to find out why the VSC, Trac off, and check engine lights are on. They said it is the camshaft position sensor, it retards the timing, and causes it to lose power when climbing. Also, 1 of every 30 to 50 scions have this problem. Sounds like it should be recalled for this. The cost of replacement is about $500 bucks. Get your dry belts and valve cover gaskets changed at the same time to avoid labor charges later. I couldn't believe the dealer charges $89 bucks an hour for labor these days, Rediculous. At least it comes with a a 12 month unlimited mileage warrenty.

SOURCE: THE VSC TRAC OFF & CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON

1. VSC means Vehicle Stability Control.

2. TRAC Off means Traction Controln is off

3. Check simply indicates that there is an issue being communicated from the onboard computer.

Take the car for a scan dear.

Why would you replace a gas cap?
You were told, two EVAP Codes ,and what they were.
Have the vehicle smoke tested and repaired. You have two different size leaks,in that system.

1996 PASSAT GLX VR6 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ISSUES

Different trans take different fluids. Looks like the previous owner had it flushed at a place that didn't know what to use, or bother to look it up. Still possibly looking at a rebuild to get wrong fluid out and restore correct performance from your German made car.

No water loss? If it's an automatic ,****** fluid also burns white.
Vacuum line to a control valve on the ******,find it and pull the hose off the trans. end ,if there is fluid ,the modulator is bad.

These are common symptoms and usually mean the worse.IT is possible you have a bad pressure control solenoid but this is rare.I would start with pulling codes if any are present.Good Luck.

Yessterday a dealership replaced my thermostat housing and hose, changed the oil , topped off fluids on my 2005 Chevy Aveo. Today it was smoking from the tailpipe and the new hose after driving 60 miles....

Smoke could be from hose clamp on hose not tight enough otherwise possible intake gasket problem, trans fluid should be red and if it is just a hint of browned and probably just needs a flush but if it is dark brown black something goin on with trans, and the motor oil you would have to pull the dip stick to see the level of oil

Transmission slipping. does not appear to be shifting properly. replaced ecm. got tcm from jeep grand cherokee same engine (4.7L). notice significant burning/smoke after driving exhaust manifold. not...

U are going to need to overhaul the transmission here, the smoke is the trans overheating from excessive slippage i suspect.code for wrong gear ratio's mean the input and output shaft speed are out of symc for the gear the trans is in, the 3rd or 4th gear is the usual codes, this sometimes is caused by defective speed sensors but most times the trans is slipping and the TCM detects that and sets a code
