The fewl pump relay is located in the bottom part of the fuse box under the hood. It is labeled on the cover where it is. It is one of the big black square s usually taped to the one above it. Cost is about fifteen bucks at advance auto.

SOURCE: fuel pump relay gets hot on a 1995 s10 blazer

Most likely a bad connector on relay or the fuel sock needs to be replaced. if the sock is plugged it would cause the fuel pump to work hard and cause it to heat the relay and make it hot and removing it will cause it not to run. check the connectors to the relay see if they are opened up in the female socket if they are use a dental pick to close them up with. otherwise replace fuel pump and sock at that age with the alcohol in fuel it's killed the pump and sock.

SOURCE: fuel pump relay hot

You could have a loose connection going to the relay. Loose or bad connections cause amperage to rise causing heat to rise. Check the plug holes where the relay pins plug in. Check for blackened metal or melting plastic around the pins. If so, check under the relay box for burnt wires, etc. and repair.

There is a break in the wire that supplies power to the fuse box.
You need to trace this power wire from the fuse box to find the break in this wire and fix this wire,.
Ii would help you is you have a wiring diagram of your vehicle as the wires are color coded.

I have a 94' chrysler concorde. How do I check to

Have someone stand or lie down close to the gas tank when you first turn the key on WITHOUT STARTING IT. They should hear the pump running to build up pressure. If not, check the fuse box under the hood for a blown fuse or bad pump relay.

94 buick century 3.1L replaced fuel pump relay no power to relay why? checked all fuses. was not getting power to fuel pump. red wire going to relay with female connection not pluged in ,what is that used...

The fuel pump relay is twice fused. The relay power is provided through a fusible link connected at the starter post that the positive battery cable connects to; and there is an in-line fuse inside a cube shaped plastic box near the relay. Either the fusible link or the inline fuse is blown, or there is a break in the wire that runs from the stater post to the relay.

My 97 monte carlo will turn over but there isn't any power to fuel pump I know it works and I've changed all the fuses and relays and also got the key checked.... I don't get it also checked...

The ECM BAT fuse powers the fuel pump through the relay. If the gray wire has power and the black wire has ground, and the fuel pump does not operate, its bad.

1998 chevy 1500 pick up. good fuel pump, new fuel filter, fuel relay good. starts good, dies instantly. what to check next.

If your fuel system is all correct and working it needs to be an ignition problem-and the usual suspect is the crank sensor, which coincidently does not set a CEL-so, since it is very inexpensive (usually less than $50) and not difficult to change int a 350, take a chance there-you could try to remove the connector and clean off the connection first-worth a shot.

1995 gmc yukon i have change the fuel assmbliy

you can manually actuate the relay if you want. Take the cover off, and push the contact over with a screwdriver and see if you can hear the pump. Have you checked to see if there's power to the relay, both the control side and the side providing power to the pump? There's two different circuits involved here, so you have to make sure they're both ok. If you have power before the relay, and power coming out of the relay headed to to pump, then your problem falls between the relay and the pump. Other things to consider, are the fuel pressure sensor, and oil pressure sensor. Some vehicles will not turn the pump on if they sense no oil pressure after a couple of seconds. Secondly, if the fuel pressure sensor is telling the pump that there's plenty of pressure, (even if there's not) it'll shut the pump down. Hope this helps you.
