It is probably not the anti theft system if it cranks over fast then slow it is your timing chain. If you want to try resetting the anti theft system disconnect the battery cables for 24 hours and reconnect them.

Hello,
To answer your question there is no inertia switch. So your only options are the fuel pump relay, the fuel pump itself or bad wiring. I would start by turning the key to on and see if the relay clicks. If it does then more than likely you have a bad fuel pump
You probably can't. If the anti-theft module is in the cluster, you would need the correct key chip for the car the cluster came out of. You might be able to bypass the passkey system by running a wire to the fuel pump relay and other components. You may need a shop manual to find the circuits.
hey, i ha d the same problem, turn the key on and let the anti theft light blink till it stops blinking about ten min. then start the car the computer has to re-learn. the pass-key anti theft shuts down the fuel pump and ignition . after i did this i have not had a problem since, i hope this helps
My 2000 cavalier has done this for 6 months. You take your key out then open your door, wait ten minutes and the system resets itself and the car will start-annoying you bet!!!
pull the plugs and check compression ... becareful you my get fuel sprying out. if you get fuel the injectors are leaking causing it to flood the engine
Your car has pass lock I, this is an easy fix. Simply attempt to start the car. The theft light will come on and may flash. Leave the key on after you try to start it for about 10 mintues. IF indeed it is a passlock I issues it will relearn and start up after 10minutes. If at anytime the key is turned back off after the intial start, the process must be restarted. Pass lock allows fuel to make it to the injectors and then pulse enough to get engine RPM to around 800 and then shuts the off injectors not the fuel pump. Let me know how you make out.
You can start it by putting into program mode...try to start, then turn it to off..,,then turn it to on (not start)..leave it on for 15 min...turn it to off for 2 min..and start..
This will reset the signal from the bcm to the pcm of the car.
you most like ly have a problem in the start switch key reader...It has to be replaced as a unit
Or it could be your bcm or pcm...very very expensive... try this first... If it does not work off to the dealership..don't even try to give this to a garage to fix. Gm has the software to reflash your computer.
it want crank and the anti-theft won't go out
tried to reset but anti-theft light won't go out
put fuel pump in now wont turn over red anti theft
