I drive a cadillac seville 1990.I put my key in the ignition and the car turned on but the engine wouldn't start. It said anti theft system remove key and wait 3 minutes.I did and tried again it said again anti theft system wait 3 minutes. How can I cut the anti theft system off so I can drive my car? I went to the passenger door and put the key in, I locked and unlocked it 4 times then I put the key in the ignition and it started.I drove around and took the key out and tried to restart it.The driver's information system said "wait 3 minutes due to anti theft system"
I Have A Seville 1990, When That Happen To Me I Got The Inginion
Replaced Problem Solved. What Is Happening Is Your Key Has A Chip And That Chip Is A Resister And When The Valve Is Not Sented To The Computer It Disengages the Fuel Pump And Than Tells You To Wait. Soon All That Will Happen Is You Will Get The Wait 3 Mins And It Will Never Start, A Good Locksmith Can Take Care Of This For You And That Will Save You Some Money. Cause If You Go To The Dealer Ouch They Will Hit You Up. But I Asure This Is How It Will Happen Cause It Is How It Happen To Me
And Sorry There Is No By Passing The Computer

mine worked after re-starting 5 or 6 times... now it won't start period...... I tried many times but my caddy 1990 eldorado will NOT start. wait 3 minutes my ***..... Don't know what to do. Got a ride home and will need to move it tomorrow... any ideas?
Car was working great then one day it just would not start. Good mechanic put it on tester and it was saying the wait three minutes thing too. Was to do with anti-theft. Had to replace switch and have a new key coded. Was about $80 for those two things. Still has issues will start very good, then if I take the key out and put it right back in will not start. There are two little wires that run from the ignition switch down into the steering column one of those was broken. Is there anyway at all to shut this feature off? Don't think they had quite perfected the anti-theft computers in 1990!!!
My car did this exact thing to me tonight.
I left it parked at work, and will return tomorrow.
it seems as if i need to locate these 2 wires in the steering column. or something?
whats ur best suggestion?
