Bounces from half to full, never reads less than half even if its empty
SOURCE: Wacky fuel gauge.
to coorrect this u will need to pull the gas tank and replace the fuel gage sending unit inside the gas tank, hwerwe is the part number for the fuel module which has the seding unit in it.
ACDELCO Part # SK1158
SOURCE: gmc jimmy 1999, fuel gauge reading empty, even
the sending unit inside the tank has a open circuit that will not complete the signal to the dash gage. The tank will have to be dropped to replace this. The fuel pump is also a part of the sending unit. The part is not very cheap neither
SOURCE: Seems like it's not getting enough gas
It could be your fuel pump with your car not running right, the gas gauge thing i have no clue maybe the sensor inside the tank is messed up. or it could just be your fuel filter not doing its job. Htere are a few things it could be I would say Fuel Filter, Pump and maybe a vacume (spelling) problem, I would need to be there and hear it running or drive it to really figure out what it is
SOURCE: gas gauge always reads full, and then bounces from
This problem is only caused by one thing, and that is the gas gauge sending unit inside the gas tank is defective, it will need to be replaced to correct this. The gas tank must be removed from the truck to access the sender assembly.
