No its not the alternator, your battery light would of came on,not only that you would not have enough power to start the vehicle,it would of been towed, 2008 has COP (coil on plug).if one or 2 went out you would be asking about a flashing check engine light.and rough idle, so leave the ignition system alone, If anything you may be loosing fuel pressure, a plug fuel filter or even may need a fuel pump.

First....sorry for my poor english... : ))
I was running on the highway and my engine stoped.... and my powerbrakes & and power sterring was not functionnal... no light indicate a problem with the engine (check engine).....
I was able to start my truck but it happen another times...... same things... the last 10Km ....it stalled 5 times....... and was able to finnaly got home. I will try to bring it to the garage and have it changed..... 3 weeks ago, i did make a oil change and an air filter changed also.
Is it possible it's a intermittent promen with my alternator or my distributor cap and wires ?? It's a 2008 Mazda Tribute with 65 000KM ....
I just not want to get ripped off by my dealer. ..... thanks for your advice.
