have to make sure the starter is getting power. make sure the engine will turn over by putting a socket and ratchet on the crank bolt and turn it to the right. the two wires to the starter is battery the big one and the little one is for the ignition. ground test light check big wire, then have a friend key it up to check the little wire.

Next time it won't start turn headlights on and see if they dim when you turn key to start, if they dim its most likely starter, if they don't dim possible starter switch, Have you tried to start it in neutral position? Try that, if it starts in neutral than its park neutral switch, if not could be starter switch, Just make sure you chk. all fuses and any relays associated with ignition first.

Is your security light flashing ?if so you have a problem with the anti theft system.Leave the key on for 10 minutes ,then try this should reset the anti theft system
SOURCE: '05 Chevy Malibu Wil Not Start
is the security light blinking on the dash? If so you need to rreprogram the key to the anti theft module. to do this, turn key to on...let sit for about 10 min or so until the security light flashes. turn key off.. count o 5. vehicle should start. if not then it will have to go to the dealer to have it specifically reprogrammed as the PCM and anti theft modules both no longer reconize the key code.
Testimonial: "Unfortunately, it didn't do work for me. I called the dealership and they charging too much, do you if I'm able to reprogram/install the new sensor?"
