I have problem with My 1994 Ford Mustang windows...they need help rolling up and down. When I push switch I can hear the motor run and a friend said he took apart and they are not off track. Also when all the way down or up the motor still runs if you hold the switch it doesn't cut off automatically. what would cause that?

  1. Graphite powder in the runner tracks will help ,or try WD40 first and when it dries put on the powder.

I have a 1990 Mustang with power windows. When i first got the car the windows rolled up and down fine, then the passenger one started going up slower than the driver one. When i needed to fix my power locks i had them change the window motor in the passenger side. Now the passenger window rolls up faster than the driver one. The problem is the window motors.......and about the motors still running: the switches probably need to be replaced as well. I can almost guarantee this will solve your problem:)

SOURCE: on a ford f 150 ---window switch work and window

Most likely the glass has become disconnected from the regulator OR the regulator has broken or become damaged. when you push the window switch 'up' or 'down' you should hear the motor, you may also hear a grinding or crunching noise and the motor slowing down or struggling under load. this is a sign your regulator is most likley damaged and needs to be replaced. If you "roll" the window all the way down and the glass does not move, try push the glass down, if you can freely move the glass up and down, it has become disconnected from the regulator. Either way you will have to take the door panel off and see for sure what the problem is.

Sounds like you need a window motor. Try hitting in center of door trim panel to see if you can get it to work if so replace motor.

SOURCE: Convertible top goes down and won't come back up.

You are probably low on fluid.
Behind the rear seat is the motor/pump/reservoir.
With the top down, fill the reservoir till it overflows with ATF. Cycle the system a few times. Repeat till the reservoir will accept no more fluid.
Look for leaking lines or cylinders. The fluid must have gone someplace.
Always replace lines and or cylinders in pairs.

SOURCE: rear window of 92 Ford Bronco wont go up or down (power windows)

You need to either replace the motor or get a rebuild kit for the head unit. You remove the motor and take out 2 bolts in the head, use a flat blade screwdriver and hammer the pinched areas to get access to the inside gear. its a nylon gear and has 3 nylon runners inside. yours will prob be in pieces that are mixed with thick grease. best to clean all that out. the rebuild kit is pretty cheap or you can just cut a bolt into 3 similar sizes and drop them in the slots. (just remember the slip action the nylon is a safety feature in case you get your head or arm caught in the window as it closes) the metal pieces make it stronger and more dangerous. Put the head back together, pinch the metal tabs, put it all back on. Same solution will work on the door windows as well.

1999 ford mustang gt, location of driver side window fuse

Both windows are fused from the same location. Most likely the window motor has gone out or a malfunction this the track mechanism. Check to make sure the window switch in the door handle is good first. Take the switch out, take the wires off the back of switch and jump the wires/connectors together. If window works, replace switch. If all you hear is motor hum or no sound from motor, motor is bad. Window motors usually start to slow down (window rolls up slowly) before they go out.

1994 ford explorer passenger window will not go up but will go down from the passenger side but nothing from the driver side

Do you hear the motor run when you push the button? If so spray WD-40 with the red applicator tip in between the window and the rubber weatherstrip from the left side working over to the right side to free it if its rusted, jammed.Or the window is off the track and the panel needs to be removed or if no sound check the switches for corrosion or breaks then check wires to the motor and put a test light on them.

I bought a 1994 ford mustang v 6 and the power windows dont work you press the button and i hear a noise then i have to press down or pull up to get the windows up or down and the power seat doesnt work...

Two unrelated problems. If you can hear the window motor running, but you have to manually pull the window up or down, it needs a window regulator. Check the fuse for the power seat. If its good, you can the connector at the motor under the seat to see if its getting power.

Power window does not work

your window power relay is either bad,or the switch is not supplying power to the relay to energize the contacts that feed the window motor power,if you can find the relay, push switch and you should hear a click from relay that switch is supplying power to the relay

Power windows

Try to only roll one at a time up or down if you push more than 1 button at a time it will put a strain on the battery also try getting your battery tested to see if a cell is out. good luck!
